“I don’t want to be anywhere else” – Thomas Tuchel confident on his future at Chelsea

It was noted in today’s press conference today that he’s coming up to the end of a full year at Chelsea. That’s already more time than some coaches have managed.

He was asked about his future, and whether he saw himself at the club for the long haul, and he responded positively.

He explained that he has a contract running until 2024 as it stands, and added “I don’t want to be anywhere else,” in quotes picked up by Football.London.

With a smile on his face, however, he noted that staying at Chelsea for more than a couple of seasons was hard to do – “history tells us it is not that easy…” and he’s under no illusions that the moment the team’s level drops, he will be booted without much sentiment.

A Champions League trophy buys you time, even at Chelsea, but if the team win nothing this season, the pressure will already be on.
