The recall of Kenedy from his loan in Brazil was a curious one. We heard from various sources that it was just in order to find him a new loan destination, and he wasn’t in first team contention.
But we’ve since seen him in first team training, and the club’s intentions are no longer so clear.
Matt Law is always well connected on these matters, and his take (as outlined on the London is Blue podcast) is the same as ours.
🗣 @Matt_Law_DT on Kenedy being recalled from loan:
“Kenedy seems to have come back as an insurance policy if Chelsea can't get anyone in. I think the plan is still very much to try and get someone in and send Kenedy back out [on loan].”

Effectively Kenedy has been brought back just in case we can’t recall a better player, or sort out a loan deal for a new backup left back. If we manage that, he can be packed off somewhere else. If we can’t, well, at least we have him.
Don’t expect to see him playing in the interim however – FIFA rules mean he can only feature for a maximum of two teams in a season, so he will only feature for us if we’re certain we can’t get anyone else and he will be staying.
Brazilian Kennedy is so skillful ..Chelsea should trust him ..for me is the best player in Chelsea fc ….
