For a long time, Southampton were the honorary “Liverpool academy”, buying young talents like Sadio Mane and Virgil Van Dijk, then selling them on to Anfield at a profit a few years later.
Now Chelsea risk becoming the Southampton academy, it seems. Not only do the Saints have former Blue Oriol Romeu on their books, they signed Tino Livramento on a cheap deal from us last summer. They also have Armando Broja on loan, and are looking to make that permanent.
🚨 EXC: Southampton are attempting to sign Tino Anjorin permanently from Chelsea before the transfer window closes.
Several Championship sides also keen on taking the 20-year-old on loan.https://t.co/1kzJ57NKHn

Now, according to Nizaar Kinsella of Goal.com, Tino Anjorin could be about to join his two academy teammates. After his loan deal in Russia was cut short the attacking midfielder is available, presumably for a price similar to the £17m purchase clause in that loan.
The detail seems to be that Saints want him permanently – but if they can’t get him now, they will wait until the summer, and Tino will go on loan somewhere in the interim.
