One thing that frustrated fans hugely over the years was the way that the club would pick a bad loan for a player, then just leave them there rotting for a whole season.
Now they’re much more on the ball – they have recall clauses, and they’re not afraid to use them.
It seems like one might be exercised today – there are whispers from the ever reliable CFCNewsPage on Instagram that Thierno Ballo could be recalled from Rapid Vienna and sent elsewhere.
#Chelsea have recalled Thierno Ballo from his loan spell at Rapid Vienna. He is expected to travel to London today amid interest from several other clubs.

He’s played a decent amount for them, but clearly Chelsea think he can develop more somewhere else. Already 20 years old, he’s not the 16 year old wonderkid he was when we signed him, and needs to play every week at a high level to keep developing.
