Chelsea keeping Tino Livramento buyback in mind as they ponder new right wing back

Chelsea have lost some of their top young talents in recent seasons to other clubs as they go in search of more regular first team football.

Cobham graduates such as Marc Guehi, Fikayo Tomori, Tammy Abraham, and Tino Livramento have all moved on to new clubs and are all enjoying more regular football since doing so.

Players like Livramento weren’t even in the Chelsea senior squad, but he knew he wanted to play regular football and made the right move.

But so did Chelsea by inserting a buyback clause into his contract, one that comes in in 2023 according to Si & Dan Talk Chelsea and the latest Podcast guest, reliable Chelsea insider, Nathan Gissing of Gianluca Di Marzio’s staff.

Gissing was speaking about Chelsea’s potential pursuit to sign a new right wing back this window, amongst a host of other transfer related news, and he says that if Chelsea do sign one they’re looking for a more experienced option due to hoping to sign back Livramento next year.

“Chelsea want more of an experienced player to come in for right wing back on loan because they know about Tino (Livramento) buyback option,” Gissing said.

“They will decide after the Man City game.”
