Chelsea have been linked with Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule, who is a free agent this summer.
The Blues could lose three of their first choice back 5, and so it makes sense to start preparing now. Sule has spent four and a half years at Bayern Munich, and has had long spells in the team as well as periods of injury and bad form where he hasn’t featured as much.
The Daily Mail are one of the papers reporting on the fact that Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn has confirmed the defender is leaving, with Barcelona and Newcastle listed as competitors for his signature.
As always whenever we get one of these stories at the moment, we can’t help but conclude one thing – wouldn’t it just be better to keep the players we have in that position, rather than let them go and sign new ones to replace them?
It’s never that simple… but maybe it should be.
