Chelsea have interest in Bundesliga left back – but €30m price tag likely

Chelsea are in the hunt for a left back, but are we head into the last week of January with no progress on that front, we can safely say things aren’t moving quickly.

The latest news comes from Germany, where Marc Behrenbeck of Sky reports that the Blues are one of the teams interested in Stuttgart’s Borna Sosa.

The left back apparently previously attracted attention from Aston Villa, who ended up buying Lucas Digne from Everton instead.

That leaves the way open for Chelsea – but given the €30m price tag Marc quotes, it looks like a non starter. It’s well established now that Chelsea are only interested in short term or cheap solutions, given they already have 3 senior left backs on the books.

So any serious money deal like this is just not going to happen – we can’t end up with Marcos Alonso, Ben Chilwell, Emerson Palmieri and Borna Sosa all in the squad come June.
