Romelu Lukaku played the second half yesterday, and barely touched the ball.
The way West Ham set up, combined with the way that Chelsea attacked, meant he barely got a sniff. Some fans complained that he wasn’t up to it, but he didn’t get any service at all, and it’s hard to blame him for much.
Speaking after the game, Thomas Tuchel revealed that his striker wasn’t even fit enough for 45 minutes, and he had just been thrown on after the injury to Kai Havertz because the team needed more height.
