Thomas Tuchel names 4 players who are out for West Ham game

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has just taken his standard pre match press conference ahead of the Blues’ game against West Ham tomorrow, and as always he lead off with some injury updates.

There are certainly no shortage of issues to discuss on that front.

Tuchel confirmed that Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante, Trevoh Chalobah and Ben Chilwell had all missed training today.

The rest of his squad, he said, are available tomorrow, in quotes picked up by Football.London.

While missing four players sounds bad, it’s actually pretty good news. We knew that quartet would be out, and had in fact feared that more players might join them.

The confirmation that Jorginho and Reece James will be back is a relief. After they both missed the Watford game on Wednesday, they should be relatively fresh to take on West Ham tomorrow.

Meanwhile Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku all seem to have been reintroduced to action from their own injuries without issue.
