Ruben Loftus-Cheek did not play for Chelsea tonight, which was surprising as Thomas Tuchel had said he was likely to play the last half an hour.
It wasn’t too surprising that he didn’t start, as Tuchel had basically said in the pre-match interview that he wasn’t physically ready to be playing 2 games a week at this crazy rate, but the fact he didn’t come raised eyebrows, and on the club’s 5th Stand App the coach later confirmed that it was a problem in the warmup.
Thomas Tuchel confirms Ruben Loftus-Cheek picked up an injury in the warm-up:
