Frank Lampard opens up on what happened the day he got sacked from Chelsea

It’s been almost a year now, but since Frank Lampard got sacked from his beloved Chelsea, he has remained fairly quiet about it all, and that was probably wise.

But now he feels it is best and enough time has now passed since it occurred, that he can now speak about his time at Chelsea and the day he got sacked back in January this year.

The blues legend has been speaking to Gary Neville on his YouTube Channel, The Overlap.

Lampard admits that he could feel the sacking coming and had heard reliable rumours that he was about to be shown the exit door at Stamford Bridge, but he wanted to continue on with his job.

They had just beaten Luton Town and the next morning he was about to take training as usual. But Blues Chairman Bruce Buck asked him to come to the boardroom instead and move training until later.

“I could feel it [sacking] coming, I heard rumours,” Lamaprd said

“We had beaten Luton and the next day I got a message from Bruce Buck saying can you move training and meet us in the Boardroom? It was very cordial.”
