Chelsea’s Wolves starters had a ‘rest and recover’ day on Monday as U23s joined training

Chelsea were forced to call upon some academy stars in training on Monday afternoon and are expected to be naming a few of them in their squad for the Brentford cup clash tomorrow.

A whole host of U23 players joined the group and trained at Cobham yesterday as Chelsea struggle with a number of drop outs through Covid-19.

And according to reliable youth insider account, Carefree Youth, the players that played against Wolves on Sunday were given the day off inside for ‘rest and recover’, which of course was a very wise idea.

Teddy Sharman-Lowe, Josh Brooking, Xavier Mbuyamba, Alfie Gilchrist, Dion Rankine, Xavier Simons, Lewis Baker, Lewis Hall, Joe Haigh, Harvey Vale, Bryan Fiabema and Jay Wareham all joined in from the academy and a few are expected to be in the squad tomorrow…

This is great news for Chelsea after only naming 14 players in the last match and could certainly use the extra numbers.
