Chelsea pick up yet another damaging injury as Kai Havertz taken off

Chelsea fans will be delighted to see Romelu Lukaku playing in this second half – it’s just a shame it’s taken a nasty looking injury to Kai Havertz to make it happen.

The German was leading the line for Thomas Tuchel in the first half, and in the very final play of he had his ankle turned really badly by Kurt Zouma.

He immediately signalled for the physios, and looked in real pain, even as he hobbled off a few minutes later.

This could easily be a few weeks out for Havertz, at the worst possible time. Just as our other striker options return, we lose the versatile Havertz.

The former Bayer Leverkusen man really got into gear against Watford earlier this week, and we were looking forward to him playing an important part in the next few weeks.

We will find out more details from Thomas Tuchel after the game, but it doesn’t look great.
