Chelsea must get Lukaku into shooting positions or face sinking another striker

Romelu Lukaku was on the pitch for 45 minutes yesterday, yet didn’t take a single shot of note.

West Ham crowded around him whenever he got the ball, and he was never able to get it out of his feet and take a decent effort.

Of course there is more to his game than that, and his ability to bring teammates into play by tying up defenders will also be vital going forward. But ultimately, if we’re not getting him in position to shoot, we’re not getting the best out of him, and in fact we’re condemning him to a season of struggles.

Just look at this effort from training today to remind yourself of how dangerous that left foot is. He only needs a sliver of space to hit one – and it’s down to the manager and his teammates to produce that for him.

We don’t want another struggling number 9 on our hands.

  1. How is it that this club keep having problems with new players, Lukaku, Tores, Kesman, Sutton, and many others are so inconsistent. City, and Liverpool players come in and are match winners. Our strikers have a difficulty in hitting a barn. OH, FOR A DROGBA OR COSTA.

  2. I do believe in lukaku,it left for Tuchel to tactically bring the best in him before it too late.
