Fabrizio Romano has just dropped the latest update on the Andreas Christensen contract situation – and it’s a positive one for Chelsea fans at last.
While he does repeat that both AC Milan and Barcelona are pushing to sign the defender, he adds that both clubs “feel” that the Danish international is more likely to extend his stay at Chelsea.
Andreas Christensen has been approached again by Barcelona [free agent, June 2022] and AC Milan [January, to replace Kjaer] but both clubs feel he’ll extend his contract with Chelsea in the next days/weeks 🔵 #CFC
Chelsea have everything ready – just waiting for Andreas to sign.

The club have made their offer, and are just waiting for Christensen to sign it.
At times it’s sounded quite unlikely that he’s going to stay, but recent developments have swung things back in our favour. Given how certain it looks that Antonio Rudiger is going to go.
Christensen is perfectly set up to be a starter at Chelsea for years to come, competing for the very biggest trophies. It would seem mad to throw that away, and hopefully he’s as close to accepting the club’s offer as Romano makes out.
