Chelsea ended up with 5 players in the top 30 of the Ballon d’Or awards, but that didn’t stop some fans being unhappy with some of the placement of some players.
Edouard Mendy finishing only as the second goalkeeper, behind Gigi Donnarumma was a particular sticking point. Donnarumma won the Euros, but Mendy’s performances from January until now have been utterly immaculate, and it’s hard to see how he wasn’t top of the keeper.
They discussed it on ESPN’s “Gab and Juls Show” and concluded that the stopper’s season had indeed been underrated.
