Way back in August, we heard that Andrea Christensen was close to signing a new contract at Chelsea, and it was just a matter of time before it was done.
Yet here we are in late November, and no deal has been signed. In TalkChelsea’s exclusive interview with Fabrizio Romano today they asked him why, and his answer was very interesting.
You can see Romano speaking in the clip embedded here:
🗣”Someone proposed him the opportunity to go to Barcelona next summer but expectations from both sides are still the same with Christensen expected to sign a new deal with #Chelsea.

He explained that just when Christensen was ready to go, Barcelona basically came calling with tempting offers and promises.
It sounds like AC will still end up signing at Chelsea – but he might just have raised his wage by playing the two clubs off against each other.
Do you want these vital members of the team or not ?
If you choose to get new men, they might not fit in,
and we start going down hill. With Rudiger why not
offer him a 3 year deal, starting with higher wages in
year 1, higher again in year 2, and what he wants in year 3. Similar with Andres, got to be cheaper than paying 100 million + for unknowns.
Absolutely right. The management should consider d proposal
If he can’t sign let him go . Let him ask eden what went wrong .
