Chelsea were dominant against Manchester United today, without creating enough clear cut chances to win the game.
It was a story we’ve heard a few times this season, and in fact the last two games at Stamford Bridge have produced some pretty astonishing figures.
Both the game against Burnley – final score 1-1, and tonight’s game against Manchester United – final score 1-1 – have seen Thomas Tuchel’s team dominate the play without getting the goals they need.
2 – In their last two Premier League matches at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea have attempted 49 shots, faced just eight themselves and had 100 touches in their opponent’s penalty area, while drawing both matches 1-1. Unfortunate. pic.twitter.com/bWAm242fvk

According to Opta, they racked up 49 shots, conceding just 8 themselves in the process, and had a ridiculous 100 touches in the opposition box.
Not only that, but today’s goal came from a penalty kick. Despite their dominance and a lot of play in dangerous areas,, Chelsea were hardly raining down shots on the United goal.
Hopefully the return of Romelu Lukaku, who came on as a sub today, will make the difference going forward. Unless they become more clinical, days like this will continue.
