Roman Abramovich was at Chelsea for disappointing draw

Roman Abramovich was at Stamford Bridge to watch a Chelsea match for the first time since 2018, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The club’s owner has been in the UK for some time now, but missed last week’s game against Juventus in order to attend a charity event in Moscow.

However, despite not being picked up by the TV cameras at any stage, Roman was apparently there to witness his team’s disappointing draw with Manchester United. In contrast, the last game he saw live was the Champions League win in Porto.

After a delay in his visa application in 2018 Abramovich has not travelled to the UK, and nobody is sure if his recent trips are a sign of a thaw in his frosty relations with the government, or just a coincidence.

There will be plenty of cameras trained on the luxury boxes at Stamford Bridge in the weeks to come to see if the head honcho repeats the trick.
