“Pulisic is not happy” – Chelsea winger enters make or break spell

Christian Pulisic has had yet another stop start season, unable to get going as a trickle of injuries and a bout of Covid prevented him once again from getting into gear.

Paul Brown of the Daily Star has written that “Pulisic is not happy” at Chelsea, and we can well understand why. But he can’t blame the club – they’ve given him every possible opportunity, and through no fault of his own, he’s not been able to pay them back.

As Brown points out, the former Dortmund winger now enters a crucial spell before January. He’s ready to play, and some strong performances of the kind we’ve seen in brief bursts could catapult him back into the club’s thinking.

But from his own fitness, there’s another major obstacle standing between Pulisic and first team action though – Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The youth academy product has waited in the wings for a long time, often behind Pulisic in the pecking order, and the left wing position is his to lose now.
