Lazio links for Ruben Loftus-Cheek seems less ambitious after great Chelsea progress

It’s strange to think that back in the summer, when Ruben Loftus-Cheek was linked with a move to Lazio, many thought he wouldn’t be up to it.

He had had a year struggling at Fulham on loan, and before that a year rehabbing and struggling to get into Chelsea’s team.

The links to Lazio, managed by Maurizio Sarri, the man who gave RLC his breakout season at Chelsea, made some sense, but seemed ambitious. Surely he would have to go to another team lower down the Premier League to establish himself all over again?

Now Ruben has had a brilliant first quarter of the season, they seem much less far fetched.

Football Italian claim that Sarri is still interested, with a January move on the cards, but given how regularly Ruben has played, the conversation has really swung the other way now, to – can Chelsea afford to let him go?
