Jules Kounde was a top target for Chelsea this summer, and the centre back came very close to moving to Stamford Bridge.
At one point it seemed like a done deal, but ultimately the transfer fell apart as the Blues weren’t able to offer what Sevilla wanted for their premier talent.
Kounde was understandably upset, and felt he had been priced out of a career changing move. But he’s focused on getting back on track, and has since become something of a regular for France.
Speaking on duty with Les Bleus this week, Kounde told Telefoot that he had been affected by the collapse of his move.
"Est-ce que mon transfert raté à Chelsea cet été m'a affecté ? Oui, un petit peu, mais maintenant c'est digéré"

“Yes it affected me a bit, but now I’ve got over it,” he insisted.
If he keeps playing well for Sevilla and for France, there’s no doubt that Chelsea – and likely a few other top clubs – will be back for him this summer.
We may regret not paying what Sevilla wanted this summer after all.
