“It’s a new start” – New Norwich boss offers encouraging words to Billy Gilmour

We are all well aware of the story by now, Billy Gilmour has played more minutes for Scotland this season than he has for Norwich City, a loan that he was supposed to be going on to play and develop.

Daniel Farke didn’t fancy him for some very odd reason, and he barely selected Gilmour in his teams.

He then got sacked due to his side sitting rooted to the bottom of the Premier League, and then was duly replaced by former Aston Villa boss Dean Smith.

Smith has been speaking to the media today after his appointment, and of course he was asked about a couple of his youngsters Gilmour, and Todd Cantwell.

Gilmour will be encouraged by the words of Smith, who says it is a new start for both of them, and both will have a big role to play.

But he also reiterates that their success will be down to them, which is a very fair comment as well…
