Chelsea were hit with the horrible news this week that left wing back Ben Chilwell is looking highly likely to miss a big chunk of the rest of the season, if not all of it.
It appears that Chilwell has at least done some damage to his ACL and might require surgery in the new year.

It’s heart-breaking news for him and for the club, with the England international being in fine form this season and one of the club’s top performers.
Chelsea will have to assess their options to cover Chilwell, and they are looking at one in-house rising star to do so.
Ian Maatsen is currently on loan at Coventry this season and he is doing well. According to insider The Secret Scout, the club are already considering bringing him back in January and they are able to do so.
Chelsea looking at options closer to home. Maatsen has made a great impression whilst at Coventry.
They want what’s best for him and his development. Further discussions ahead.
If Chilwell injury is as feared. Maatsen and Alonso good option on the left. https://t.co/caJRCdG7m9

Maatsen is a great prospect, but they will need to also consider his development here and what is best for him.
