Thomas Tuchel said after the narrow win over Brentford at the weekend that he thought Romelu Lukaku was mentally and physically tired after a busy summer.
Playing just a few days later, he was injured – in a tackle however. A reporter asked the manager whether he regrets starting the striker again, and he pointed out that fact. It wasn’t an injury caused by fatigue, it was from a bad tackle, so there was nothing to regret. Only that the forward is now, for “some matches,” as he put it.
