Chelsea have just beaten Brentford 1-0 at their new stadium, but for anyone watching the game it certainly didn’t feel like a win.
The Blues goal came from a sweet strike from Ben Chilwell at the end of the first half, but apart from that Thomas Tuchel’s team barely created a thing.
Meanwhile, as the second period wore on, Brentford went through the gears and started raining down shots on the Chelsea goal. Only Edouard Mendy kept us in the game.

For those who don’t get xG, that means Brentford had enough chances to score almost two goals, while Chelsea’s added up to just a quarter of one goal.
That’s not a sustainable situation, but we’ll happily take the 3 points and move on.
