Ruben Loftus-Cheek changing his Chelsea future cameo by cameo

Ruben Loftus-Cheek made an impressive impact for Chelsea when he came on as a sub against Norwich.

The game was already won, the and opposition had already been shown to be particularly weak, but the midfielder still took the team up a gear when he came on.

Mason Mount’s hattrick goal was all thanks to Ruben, who burst from midfield and drew the keeper out before sliding it to his teammate.

It’s another great performance to add to an impressive list. Every time he’s stepped foot on the pitch this season he’s made a positive impact, and there’s no question he pushed himself into Thomas Tuchel’s thinking for the rest of the season, and possibly beyond.

We may look back on this run of cameos and see it as a crucial crossroads in Loftus-Cheek’s career. If he keeps playing like this as a sub, he will get more starts, and if he keeps performing as a sub, there’s no telling what his ceiling is, this season and beyond.
