Report: Chelsea’s Jules Kounde pursuit could depend on 4 expiring contracts

The Chelsea summer saga involving their pursuit of Jules Kounde could soon fire back up again.

The Blues didn’t pay what Sevilla demanded for the young French international in the end and both sides were forced to move on.

But Chelsea could reignite their attempts to sign the defender again either in January or the summer, but it could be dependent on the fate of four current Chelsea players with contracts expiring at the end of the season, according to The Daily Mirror.

Chelsea have Thiago Silva, Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger, and Andreas Christensen all in the last year of their contracts and all as it stands could agree a pre-contract with a new team as soon as January.

Christensen looks likely to extend, Rudiger is rather 50/50 right now, Azpilicueta we have yet to hear much about either way, and the same for Silva.

So the situation is certainly up in the air and needs sorting out.
