Mason Mount set for talks over major new contract

Mason Mount has a big new contract on the table, according to reporting by Nizaar Kinsella of Goal.com.

Still just 22, Mount has developed into a key player for the Blues, and is without doubt one of the best in his position in Europe for his age.

Kinsella reports that he is one of the lowest earning first team players at the club, on around £75,000 a week. He can apparently expect to double that in his new deal.

He has two and a half years left to run on his current contract, and there doesn’t seem to be any risk of him leaving his boyhood club anytime soon.

But in order to keep him happy and reward him for his brilliant performances, a major raise is needed, and it sounds like one is coming. He has brought a lot more to the team than some of the players sitting on the bench earning more money than him, and it’s clear why it’s important to rectify that.
