Mason Mount plays creative role against Malmo

Mason Mount was back in the team tonight, and looked bright against a Malmo side who rather fell apart once the floodgates had opened.

Mount played 3 key passes in the game, joint most on the team with Marcos Alonso. WhoScored report him also as having played an accurate long ball, and 3 accurate crosses.

There can be no denying, he did his bit to get the ball into the other attacks, and by the end of the game the team had been rewarded with 4 goals for their efforts. The connection between defence and attack looked restored, after some disjointed games this season. N’Golo Kante’s runs forward played an important part there too.

For the next few games, we will likely need him to step up and find the net too. With both Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku out for a few games, all our midfielders will need to get on the scoresheet.

That includes Mason.
