Mason Mount has confirmed he has been vaccinated in his England press conference.
The midfielder was in trouble in the summer after coming into contact with Covid positive Billy Gilmour at the Euros.
He and teammate Ben Chilwell were effectively ruled out of two games, so perhaps it’s not surprising he’s taken the jab.
We’ve also seen N’Golo Kante (who is not vaccinated) missing Chelsea games in the last month, so there are obvious benefits all around Mount for reducing his chances of catching and transmitting the virus – and that’s not even considering the main benefit of reducing his chances of getting seriously ill.
Let’s hope the rest of the Chelsea squad follow his example, and we can have the rest of this season unbothered by Covid positive related issues.
We’ve got enough on our plate managing a squad over the course of an intense and busy season – this can just make Thomas Tuchel’s life a little easier.
