Lazio boss linked with Kepa despite bad blood

The incident in the Carabao Cup when Maurizio Sarri was Chelsea manager was one of the craziest we’ve seen in football – and we’ve seen a lot.

Goalkeeper Kepa refused to be subbed off just before the penalty shootout, and manager Sarri stormed all the way to the dressing room door before realising what he was about to do and turning back.

That hasn’t stopped those ingenious transfer rumour writers. In fact it may have just encouraged them. Today, the Daily Mail report that the now-Lazio boss wants to sign the Spanish keeper for his new team.

It just sounds odd to us, but there could be some logic to it. It was Sarri who picked Kepa for Chelsea after all, and given his situation at Chelsea, he certainly wouldn’t cost much.

The Blues might even entertain the idea of a loan move for the stopper.

Maybe all has been forgiven, and they’re ready for a reunion for the ages?
