“I was crying” – Trevoh Chalobah describes moment his phone froze after he scored for Chelsea

What a moment it was, Chelsea academy graduate Trevoh Chalobah scoring his first goal for the club, and what a goal it was too.

It wasn’t just any old first goal for the club you have been at since you were 8-years old, it was an absolute long distance screamer from the defender in a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace.

He was probably fully expecting to go back out on loan this season after a string of loan moves for his development. But instead he has become pretty regular in Thomas Tuchel’s starting Chelsea line up.

After his goal, Chalobah dropped to his knees and could not fight back the tears as his team mates gathered around him in what was a massively emotional moment for all involved at the club.

He has been describing that moment and how he could not use his phone for a couple of minutes after it froze from the mass messages he was receiving
