There was a lo of talk about Edouard Mendy this week, after the Chelsea goalkeeper was nominated for the goalkeeper of the year award, but not the Ballon d’Or itself.
There were accusations of racism from his international teammates, with Sadio Mane saying that black players have to work twice as hard as white players to get recognition.
Well you won’t find that’s the case here at Chelsea News – we’re huge Mendy fans, and he chose a great day today to remind everyone just how good he is.
Chelsea had no right to win this game against Brentford, and the keeper had to make an amazing SIX saves to keep the score at 1-0. Man of the match, and perhaps performance of the season too.
At full time, he celebrated harder than anyone, and with good reason. That one is for you, France Football voters. We will be back next year for the top prize.
