“Chelsea will win the Premier League – their squad is so strong” – BBC pundit says Blues are title favouritesa

After a few stodgy attacking performances, Chelsea followed their 4-0 win over Burnley with a 7-0 win over Norwich, to remind everyone we’re the real deal this season.

Pundits have been all over Manchester City and Liverpool in recent weeks – understandably, but this week has reminded a few people that the Bles are top of the league, and not going anywhere. The BBC quoted pundit Chris Sutton, who has always said his old team are favourites:

“This is why I believe Chelsea will win the Premier League – their squad is so strong and their academy players are flourishing,” Sutton explained.

“Today’s performance was excellent, but last month the performances have not been there. That is a tremendous mentality to have. They have a squad ready to compete at all levels.”

Our poor performances have let the focus be on other places – and you can expect that to continue today as Liverpool take on Manchester United.

That suits us just fine. The longer we can stay top of the table without people taking us seriously the better. Performances are improving, and we’ve got some easier fixtures coming up.

We’re not quite the bookies’ favourite yet, but we’re closing in, game by game. Once we have our forwards back and fit, we will be a formidable force.
