Chelsea star claims team-mate “can read minds” after superb performance

Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell has tweeted that he thinks goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga can read minds after his terrific performance in the Carabao Cup penalty shoot-out victory over Southampton.

The Blues drew 1-1 with the Saints so had to settle things from the spot, with Kepa showing his immense quality despite so often coming under criticism during his Stamford Bridge career.

Chilwell is clearly a fan of Kepa, as per his tweet below…

Joking aside, this might once again raise questions over who should be the long-term number one for Chelsea.

Edouard Mendy certainly seems to be the most logical choice at the moment after his superb form since joining the club, but Kepa has shown he shouldn’t be completely written off either.

The Spanish shot-stopper is a fine backup option to have, and performances like this will at least keep Mendy on his toes as he’ll know he can’t afford too many slip-ups before he’s at serious risk of losing his place.
