Chelsea are interested in Marcelo Brozovic of Inter, whose contract is running down.
That’s according to Football.London, who collate various sources from the continent that have suddenly burst into life today chattering about a potential deal.
There are a number of top players coming to the end of their contracts this summer, and Brozovic is one of them. Full of Champions League and international experience with Inter Milan and Croatia, he’s still just 28 and looks to have plenty still to give.
Inter spent last summer selling off a lot of their assets, including Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea, so they should have the money to offer whatever he likes. But if his heart is set on a new challenge, it will be very difficult to persuade him to stay, especially with manager Antonio Conte also gone.
A versatile central midfield option, it’s easy to see Thomas Tuchel being a fan, and as a free transfer, it seems like a smart move.
