Chelsea have a number of new contracts they need to secure as soon as possible, four of them being defenders.
Thiago Silva, Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen, and Antonio Rudiger are all in their final years of their contracts at the club, and decisions need to be made on both sides.

We have all been reading a lot of the Rudiger and Christensen situations, but what has been a bit quieter is the situation of our club captain, Cesar Azpilicueta.
But according to Italian reporter Nicolo Schira, Chelsea are ‘at the final stage’ now of securing his contract extension until 2023, which will put another year on top of his current deal plus an option for a further year.
He also claims Chelsea are close to renewing Christensen’s deal until 2026 in his latest tweet over night.
