Most of the world’s transfer windows are closed now, and despite Chelsea’s best efforts this summer, they weren’t able to loan out everyone they wanted to.
The most obvious examples are Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Malang Sarr. They’re still at Cobham, and in fact still in the Champions League squad.
Asked about their situation going forward, Thomas Tuchel made his stance very clear – they must be ready to play, just like everyone else. We have our doubts either will see the field (apart from perhaps in the Carabao Cup).
