Chelsea didn’t play well tonight against Zenit St Petersburg, but they came away with a win, in part thanks to the efforts of Antonio Rudiger in defence.
He also almost scored a brilliant goal to give his team the lead.
Interviewed by BT Sport after the game, the defender was more than aware of how close his team had come to drawing or even losing this game. “Thank God” he exclaimed when describing the final result.
Let’s hope they don’t have to rely on The Almighty next time…
