Tiemoue Bakayoko targeted by awful racist chants as he makes AC Milan return

Tiemoue Bakayoko has only been back in Serie A for a couple of weeks, but he’s already had to endure racist abuse from opposition fans.

The midfielder was making his second AC Milan debut last night, brought on as a substitute for Franck Kessie in the second half.

CalcioMercato report that as the players switched, the Lazio fans “rained down” racist chants on the pair, with the song “this banana is for Bakayoko” heard around the stadium.

The midfielder responded in an Instagram post he released today.

Let’s hope this is the only time he has to deal with this kind of thing back in Italy. We were happy to see him back in a league where he seems so settled, we must pray that the AC Milan fans give their new player all the backing he needs to feel especially welcome now.
