If you’ve ever wondered why people hate the international break…
Romelu Lukaku had only just arrived at Chelsea, and given his fans a taste of what he can do, and now he’s already been snatched away.
The big target man went on international duty with Belgium, and got a goal against the Czech Republic. Unfortunately, as well as a caution and a suspension, he also picked up a thigh injury, which Goal.com reports he will be get a scan on upon returning to London.
It’s not one of those fake international break injuries either – he’s suspended for his country’s next game this week (against Belarus), so would have been heading home anyway.
There still seems to be a lot of confidence he will be back for the late kick off against Aston Villa on Saturday, but there’s now at the very least a sliver of doubt which wasn’t there before.
