We’ve reached the end of another punishing international break, and Chelsea fans will be delighted to hear that they will get to see their big summer signing in action again tomorrow.
Romelu Lukaku had played such a menacing game against Arsenal that we were all impatient to see him do the same again against Liverpool – only for Reece James’ red card to ruin the whole occasion.
A thigh injury the forward mentioned on international duty this week was also a concern, but Thomas Tuchel’s press conference quotes (which you can read embedded below) confirm almost without question that the Belgium striker will play.
Tuchel says Kante and Pulisic are out of #CFC v #AVFC. Hope that Kante will be back for Zenit. Pulisic came back on crutches with ankle injury, estimate 10 days. Lukaku is fine. Trained yesterday and today.

Tuchel said that Lukaku had trained two days in a row once he’d returned from Belgium duty – and that sounds like more than enough time to secure a start.
We would now be very surprised to see any other name up front for Chelsea against Villa tomorrow.
