“Music to my ears” – Marcos Alonso reacts to being booed by Spurs fans

Chelsea wing back Marcos Alonso is going through some kind of renaissance at Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel this season.

He has firmly nailed down that regular starting role at left wing back, keeping England international Ben Chilwell on the bench and behind him in the pecking order.

Alonso has become an important part of Tuchel’s starting line up, one that has gone all through pre-season and the start of this season unbeaten.

He has provided key goals and assists for Chelsea and really proven his worth to the club and this team.

Once again on Sunday as he helped Chelsea thrash Tottenham, Spurs fans were constantly booing Alonso whenever he touched the ball, attempting to put him off.

Unlucky lads, it backfired, and it actually fuels Alonso to play even better and try even harder and as he describes, it is ‘music to my ears’.

As reported by The Telegraph, Alonso said:

“I love it! To be booed when you play away, it’s music to my ears. It might be because I have scored a few goals against them and I think they maybe have these memories in their head when I touch the ball, so yeah I love it and even more when we get the three points.”
