Mason Mount injured for Man City game but another key player returns

One step forward and one step back…

Chelsea have been without their goalkeeper Edouard Mendy for two gams in a row thanks to a hard knock to the ribs he got against Zenit last week, and the good news is that he’s back for Sunday’s game against Manchester City.

Thomas Tuchel confirmed that in his press conference just now.

The bad news is that Mason Mount is now out. The midfielder went off at half time in the game against Aston Villa, and it was seen as a pre planned change.

But according to Tuchel he’s got a slight problem, and won’t be fit to face our title rivals.

In all honesty, the break will probably do him good. He’s looked a little burned out – and there’s even the suspicion that this issue is invented to allow him to step out of the team with no embarrassment.

He will be missed.
