“Future Chelsea captain” – These Blues fans go wild for exceptional defender

Thomas Tuchel put out a strongly rotated team full of rag-tags and misfits, and while some have struggled in the first half against Aston Villa, others have shone.

There’s no doubting who the man of the match for Chelsea has been so far – Trevoh Chalobah has excelled in the back line, more than making up for his partner Malang Sarr’s errors.

A couple of brilliantly timed interventions, a couple of decisive passes into the opposition half – the centre back is showing exactly what he did in the preseason friendlies to force Tuchel into keeping him in his first team plans this season.

Social media went wild for his performance, as you’d expect, and the fan who said he looked like a “future Chelsea captain” isn’t looking far wrong. He’s another academy product who looks to have it all.
