Chelsea lose key man with injured star forced to play after all

It’s been a tough first half an hour for Chelsea at Samford Bridge against Man City.

The Blues have been under incredible pressure, as you’d expect against a highly motivated Pep Guardiola side.

City have pressed Chelsea extremely high up the pitch, with incredible intensity, and it’s proved tricky for the Blues to get as far as the opposition half at times.

Things have just gone from bad to worse with the substitution of Reece James. The right wing back seemed to take a blow to the top of his foot, and the medical staff didn’t delay long in helping him down the tunnel.

He’s replaced by Thiago Silva – which wouldn’t usually be a downgrade in any shape or form. But the problem is that Silva has a slight injury – the very reason the Brazil star didn’t start in the first place.

Let’s hope both James and Silva end the day unscathed.
