Antonio Rudiger wants monster €11m salary after superb season

Chelsea will have to double Antonio Rudiger’s wages to get him to stay at the club, according to reports from the well connected Christian Falk in Germany.

The defender is apparently on €5.5m a week at the moment – with taxes taken into account.

Falk claims that Jules Kounde, whom the club chased all summer, was offered a €4.5m salary after tax, a major upgrade on Rudi’s wages.

We always suspected it was going to be tough to keep the centre back as he closes in on the end of his deal, and can shop around for the best offer from anywhere in Europe, and this just proves it.

The length of the deal is another question. In a reply Falk says the talks are over a 4 or 5 year deal that would take the former Roma man well into his 30s.

Chelsea usually wouldn’t make that offer – and that’s another reason we’re starting to have doubts the defender will stay.
