Chelsea are currently working on trying to secure new contracts for two of their important centre backs, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
Whilst the German international’s new contract is in doubt, and his future could be away from Chelsea, Christensen’s new Chelsea contract is ‘done’ according to the reliable Telegraph Journalist Matt Law, who was speaking on the London is Blue Podcast today.
Rudiger’s issues are about money, as he also spoke about on the same show today, but Christensen is now a new long-term Chelsea player as far as Law is concerned.

So why have we not have the announcement yet? Well, he describes that as being ‘a few little bits and bobs’ in terms of timings on different payments to different people as part of the negotiation. Then it will turn into a PR game of when it is best to announce it, according to Law.
Let’s hope it’s officially confirmed soon!
