Last week it appeared all systems go for Chelsea to sign Jules Kounde from Sevilla after Fabrizio Romano broke the news.
The transfer reporter suggested it appeared the deal would get done, however, we seemed to have hit as stumbling block.
EXCL. Jules Koundé deal update: Chelsea are in advanced talks with Sevilla and Kurt Zouma could be included in the negotiation. Possible swap deal to go through in the next hours/days with Zouma + money for Koundé to Chelsea. 🔵 #CFC
Personal terms agreed for Koundé until 2026.

Kurt Zouma in the deal was meant to be the clincher for Chelsea and a way to get the fee down. Or at least, selling Zouma.
But as of now, it doesn’t look like he wants to join Sevilla, or another interested club, West Ham, and he is in no rush to leave Chelsea.
So what now? Well, the above has been reported in the latest article from Goal Espana, and they say the deal remains ‘unresolved’.

They say that the Spanish club want €70 million for Kounde, but as of now Chelsea are not paying that fee.
It does seem that this one wasn’t actually as far along as suggested, even though Kounde has agreed terms with Chelsea and is waiting to join.
